Credit for Previous Studies

You may be granted credit for previous studies in higher education institutions in your home countries or from other recognised institutions. If you want to apply for credit transfer you need to submit your academic transcripts and a detailed subject syllabus. The syllabus must include a subject outline, details of the assessment, and the duration of each subject. The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form is available here:

The Australian Government approves student visas for study in Australia. The Australian Government determines the requirements for the issue of a student visa. The Australian Government operates an Overseas Student program that allows people who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents to study in Australia .

If you wish to study in Australia you must first obtain a student visa.

To be eligible for a student visa you must be accepted for full-time study for the whole or part of the education program you intend to do with VU Sydney and also meet a number of assessment factors and general requirements that have been established by the Australian Government.

Pre-Visa Assessment

A Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) determines a student's eligibility for a student visa and is necessary if your country is at Assessment Level 3 or 4. This involves obtaining a letter of offer from your chosen institution and submitting your visa application with all supporting documentation to your local DIAC office for assessment. If the assessment is favourable, you will be issued with a PVA approval letter to give to your education provider authorizing them to issue you with an ECOE.
