Job title: Accounts Officer
Reports to: Finance & Accounts Manager
Department: Accounts & Finance

Primary Job Responsibility

  • Accounts Receivable;
  • Accounts Payable including agents commission;
  • Petty cash handling;
  • Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation;
  • Processing of Tuition Fee Refunds;
  • Comparing Budgets with actuals;
  • Maintenance of books of accounts and preparation of financial statements;
  • Prepare business activity statement, BAS;
  • Answering queries students fee, refunds, agents commission, supplier payments etc.

Accounts Officer Duties and responsibilities

  • Recording of student’s tuition fee received on daily basis;
  • Reconciling banks for expenses and students fee received in banks;
  • Processing creditor payments, matching invoices to purchase orders;
  • Processing the Commissions paid to agents and sending the remittance advices;
  • Creating the Invoices for students in Students Management System;
  • Reconciliation of Credit Cards;
  • Controlling outstanding fee and preparing outstanding reports;
  • Assist in preparation of payroll tax reports and BAS reports;
  • Insurance Renewals and maintenance of insurance register;
  • Fixed Assets register and accounting;
  • Preparing the profit and loss accounts on monthly basis;
  • Comparison of Actual and Budgeted numbers;
  • Providing administrative support to the Finance functions, data analysis using Excel, and other ancillary tasks;
  • Banking Jobs like the deposit of cheques and issuance of telegraphic transfer;
  • Checking/verifying commission invoices, travelling exp., cash handling and filling up different forms related to banks;
  • Advising and handling inquiry regarding Fee and related issues with students and agents; and
  • Any other work assigned by a manager from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Advanced level knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook express;
  • Accounting qualification, bachelor and above;
  • Expert level of Xero Accounting Software;
  • Financial Accounting and Financial reporting experience;
  • Payroll processing experience preferable;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to detail and Confidentiality;
  • Numerical ability and data entry skills; and
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet the deadlines.
